What data we process

We collect only what is needed to run the service and show the weather:

• IP address — kept briefly in server logs for security and rate limiting (legal basis: legitimate interest).
• Location — only if you grant browser geolocation or search for a place. Coordinates are used to fetch the forecast and are not stored permanently.
• Settings (units, language, last selected place) — stored locally in your browser (localStorage). They are not sent to our server.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses no tracking (marketing) cookies. For anonymous, aggregated traffic statistics we use cookieless analytics with no personal data (Plausible Analytics, or a self-hosted GoatCounter instance). No cookie consent is therefore required.

Third parties that may receive your IP address

Some content is loaded directly by your browser, so your IP address is technically exposed to those providers. Each has its own privacy policy:

• CARTO — map tiles,
• webcam providers — only while you play their live stream,
• the analytics tool named above.

Data sources

Forecast, radar, alerts, lightning, air quality and satellite cloud imagery are fetched by our server and only then shown to you. These providers therefore do not receive your IP address; we list them as the source of the data:

• ČHMÚ — radar, alerts and measured data,
• Open-Meteo — forecast and place search,
• EUMETSAT — satellite cloud imagery (Meteosat),
• Blitzortung.org — lightning data,
• CARTO base maps are built on data © OpenStreetMap.

Transfers outside the EU

Some content loaded directly by your browser — in particular live webcam streams or analytics — may be processed outside the EU. Loading such content can transfer your IP address outside the EU/EEA.

Retention

Operational logs are kept short-term. Local settings stay in your browser until you clear them (clearing site data).

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and to object. You may lodge a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority (uoou.gov.cz). For any questions use the contact above.

Data accuracy and disclaimer

Slejvak.cz is an informational tool. Weather data (radar, forecast, alerts, air quality, pollen, the foraging index, solar PV calculations) is indicative, taken from external sources or modeled, and may be inaccurate, delayed or unavailable.

The site is not a substitute for official ČHMÚ warnings or instructions from emergency services. For any decision affecting health, property or safety, always rely on official sources (chmi.cz, emergency services, the 112 emergency line).

Limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness or uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from use of the site, reliance on the displayed data, or inability to use the site.

The operator is not responsible for the content, availability or accuracy of external data sources and third-party websites.
