What data we process

We collect only what is needed to run the service and show the weather:

• IP address — kept briefly in server logs for security and rate limiting (legal basis: legitimate interest).
• Location — only if you grant browser geolocation or search for a place. Coordinates are used to fetch the forecast and are not stored permanently.
• Settings (units, language, last selected place) — stored locally in your browser (localStorage). They are not sent to our server.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses no tracking (marketing) cookies. For anonymous, aggregated traffic statistics we use Plausible Analytics, which runs without cookies and without personal data. No cookie consent is therefore required.

Third parties and data sources

When the map and data load, your IP address is technically shared with content providers. Each has its own privacy policy:

• CARTO and OpenStreetMap — map tiles,
• Open-Meteo — forecast and place search,
• NASA GIBS — satellite imagery,
• Blitzortung.org — lightning data,
• ČHMÚ — radar and alerts.

Retention

Operational logs are kept short-term. Local settings stay in your browser until you clear them (clearing site data).

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and to object. You may lodge a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority (uoou.gov.cz). For any questions use the contact above.
